Reducing aviation emissions makes a significant contribution to tackling climate change. The most important low-carbon fuels for aviation are bio-jet fuels, hydrogen and power-to-liquid technologies. We need to be certain that these fuels are genuinely better for the environment, and aren't simply replacing one issue with another - it's important to assess all types of emissions from these fuels, not just CO2.

Researchers from Imperial College London have evaluated these low-carbon aviation fuels.
