Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurship

A series of materials to promote the Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurship at Cranfield School of Management.

The project:

The Bettany Centre is the hub for entrepreneurial growth at Cranfield University created to help others build and grow their business ideas into a successful reality.

We were asked by the Bettany Centre to produce a promotional video which concisely communicated who they are, what they do and for what purpose. The video was to played at a launch event held at Mayfair, London and would henceforth be used as a tool to educate audiences about the centre’s main activities.

We took the decision to create an emotive video that focused on the personal connections that the respondents have with the centre. The content of the video was formed primarily from interviews with stakeholders from the centre including the director, chairman, members of the board and beneficiaries including students and business people who have previously received support from the centre. Interviews were conducted in a number of settings, however, we worked hard which each of the respondents to make them feel as relaxed as possible so we could capture the most natural responses that we possibly could.

Cutaway was used to support the interview content. One of the main challenges here was that, the Bettany Centre does not operate out of one fixed location, therefore, cutaway consisted of a range of existing library footage captured from previous projects that we’ve worked on with Cranfield University. We were also able to use some establishing shots captured on-location in the same settings that we conducted the interviews. We used an inspiring and uplifting soundtrack to enhance the emotion and positive associations that the interview respondents had with the centre.

The launch:

Finally we were asked to document and photograph the launch event in London when the video was being premiered to people who are associated with the centre (alumni, staff and partners). The night was a great success and provided a rare opportunity to see the first-hand reactions to our work with its primary target audience. Here are a range of images that we captured from the event.
